Job Summary

Receive and provide tier-1 support for incoming communications (calls, emails, voicemail, and web service request and incident records) and provide staffing resources to maintain adequate coverage for 24/7 operations. Monitor all ESD service request and incident records and ensure that all ESD tickets are addressed in accordance with USMC ITSM processes and procedures. Record announcements via the SvD telephony system message, to include general announcements regarding outages and/or service degradations. Monitor network status and availability, utilizing USMC tools, to remain informed on pending incidents to provide proactive support.

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Assist users in the area(s) of password reset, desktop application support (Microsoft Office products, Internet Explorer, and Adobe), Windows operating system troubleshooting, and basic print and scanner support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all transactions within the MCCOG SvD, using the USMC Incident Management (IM) tool, as well as related support team documented procedures, such as the MCCOG SvD Operations manual.
  • Execute IM procedures to assist in the identification and resolution of Incidents, to eliminate potential disruptions to MCCOG SvD operations.
  • Update the knowledge base of USMC applications, systems, or program interrelationships, to assist with resolution of tickets.
  • Execute the USMC ITSM processes directly related to MCCOG SvD activities.  Provide Tier I services, in accordance with the USMC policy, processes and procedures.
  • Provide remote desktop support for user-facing services, as required.  Publish outage notifications, as directed by MCCOG SvD Manager.
  • Staff the MCCOG SvD to respond to customers’ requests to resolve tickets, ensuring technology support and TT resolution are achieved within specified guidelines and in accordance with Service Level Targets (SLT).
  • Serve as a point of contact (POC) between the customer and the MCEN SvD for receiving Service Requests, and assist with troubleshooting of hardware and software.
  • Log the Request/Incident into the trouble ticket system (BMC Remedy) and provide first line investigation, diagnosis, and response, to include resolution, if possible.
  • Create Trouble Tickets and refer Incidents beyond Tier I capability in accordance with established call escalation processes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Three (3) years of customer service experience shall include two (2) years of IT ticketing system experience,
  • Certified in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.
  • High school Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

Title SPS Sterilization Technicians

Job Summary

Receive contaminated instruments and instrument sets, suction equipment, bedpans, urinals, air/water mattresses, various pieces of rolling stock, clinic instruments, other patient care items, and determine the appropriate method of decontamination as required per manufacturers’ instructions. Dissemble and inspect items for wear and tear, damage and/or missing components. Operate equipment and instruments to ensure proper functions prior to sterilization or distribution.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assemble instrument sets and other trays by selecting an appropriate tray in the correct manner, e.g. hinged instruments in an open position, ring handled instruments on a spreader, heavy instruments on the bottom of the tray, delicate items pre-wrapped to prevent any damage, and blades’ sharp edges covered to prevent injury and damage. This includes disposable items such as sponges, needles, syringes, suture materials etc. needed to complete the list of items to be included in the given set. Ensure proper function and testing prior to assembling and sterilization.
  • Strive for a compact, logically-arranged package that will allow for effective penetration of the sterilization medium.
  • Select correct wrapping material and sterilization indicators for each type of sterilization methods.
  • Receive and inspect wrappers and other supplies for holes, rips or tears, and any other defects.
  • Schedule operations of the steam and gas sterilizers to permit cooling or aeration of sterilized items prior to their use by wards or the operating room. Know how to read and confirm passing parameters for each type of sterilization method.
  • Observe chemical indicator results to confirm a complete sterilization cycle.
  • Review the sterilizer recording charts to verify the operating conditions of the sterilizers.
  • Load materials in a manner that allows circulation and permeation by the sterilizing medium.
  • Label all sterilized items with a control number expiration date either 30 days or 1 year.
  • Observe indicator tape on each package for a positive/negative indication of exposure to the sterilant and stores or distributes these items without compromising the sterility of the package.
  • Assemble and load all ward and operating room carts according to the schedules and fill special and emergency requests for sterile supplies.
  • Periodically inventory medical supplies and equipment, remove outdated items, and initiate replenishment needs.
  • Follow all Joint Commission requirements and adhere to AAMI, AORN and IACHSMM guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

Must be a certified registered central supply technician with IAHSSMM certification.

Qualifications and Skills

  • In accordance with DoD 8570.01; Candidate must meet the Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level I requirements  by having one of the following certifications: A+ , NET+, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP,  CCNA-Sec, Cissp, Cisa, CASP, GCIH, GSEC, or GCED)
