Responsible for and apply social work procedures and techniques in the evaluation and treatment of psychological/psychiatric disorders. Activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
*Responsible for and provide individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy.
*Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders and school districts, as required.
*Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and patient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
*Training. Attend and provide didactic seminars in the areas of normal growth and development, consultation-liaison and psychotherapeutic approaches to child psychopathology.
*Provide consultation and workshops with parents, schools, hospital staff, and other personnel who work with children and adolescents on the theory and practice of working with this population. Provide training to clinical psychology residents and post-doctoral child psychology fellows, as required.
*Research. Participate in and/or direct research and conducts clinical investigations in social work and/or child and adolescent psychology.
*Participates in military specific training (e.g., pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress, etc).
*Communication. Contractor employees shall maintain open and professional communication with members of the MTF staff, MTF customers, and other contractor employees. COR will report validcomplaints in writing to the CO for action. Valid complaints will be considered a performance failure. The contractor shall resolve all substantiated complaints immediately upon notification of the complaint, and no later than the suspense date provided by the CO, or designated representative.
*The Licensed Clinical Social Worker shall respect and maintain the basic rights of patients, demonstrating concern for personal dignity and human relationships. *Providers receiving complaints validated by the FRED, COR and Chief of the Medical Staff shall be subject to counseling and, depending on the nature and severity of the complaint, separation from performing services under this contract.
*Seeks and maintains interpersonal relationships with clients/families and coworkers which contribute to mission accomplishment.
*Coordinates patient care with community health agencies and social programs. Shall facilitate continuity of care for patients. Has knowledge of a wide variety of resource agencies available in the military treatment system to ensure proper and expedient referral of the patient and/or family member.
*Ensures patient and staff safety through safety awareness, proper infection control and promotion of clean, orderly clinic environment. Recognizes, reports, and corrects potential safety hazards.
*Documentation. Contractor employees shall prepare all documentation to meet or exceed established MTF standards, to include, but not limited to: timeliness, accuracy, content, and signature. Contractor employees shall only use MTF and Air Force-approved abbreviations for documentation in the patient health records and follow the MTF’s Do Not Use Abbreviation List. *Medical Records Documentation. Health care providers shall complete medical records documentation within 72 business hours of the encounter with the patient.
Coding. Contractor employees shall use the proper coding of procedures and treatment, and shall maintain coding accuracy (CPT/E&M/procedure) at the same standard, 90% or higher, as military and civil service health care providers engaged in comparable work.
*Shall be responsible for creating, maintaining, and disposing of only those Government records which are specified by the 96 MDG.
*Shall treat patient information, no matter how developed, as privileged information. Patient information shall not be disclosed or revealed in any way for any use outside the MTF without prior written permission by the Chief of Hospital Services.
*Shall direct supporting Government employees assigned to them during the performance of clinical duties. Guides the performance of assigned personnel. Uses team approach toward staff and patient management.
*Shall perform administrative duties that may include maintaining statistical records of his or her clinical workload, participating in medical educations programs, and participating in quality improvement functions and other duties as prescribed by the Flight Commander.
*May be asked to participate/direct committees, programs or clinical services directly related to area of clinical responsibility or privileges.
*Shall attend and participate in meetings, professional staff conferences, and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: quality improvement meetings, professional staff meetings, commander’s staff meetings, flight meetings, and other meetings required by applicable regulations, *MTF guidance, or as directed by the flight Commander or his/her designated representative.
Requirements:
*Shall have a minimum of two years of experience within the past five years in the independent practice of clinical social work in a mental health setting working with an adult population, or with children and teens if specifically working with that population. Experience working in a Government setting such as DoD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF is preferable.
*Master’s degree in social work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
*Current, unrestricted license
*valid CPR card/ BLS provider
*minimum of 3 years’ professional clinical experience in a mental health care setting
